Baby Zeniq

BabyZeniq800x533

This portrait of Baby Zeniq was only possible a day after he was born. He came to this world late in the evening so I couldn’t have possibly made it to the hospital for a First Day Portrait. Zeniq is eager to see the world.

Among the babies I’ve met so far, he is the most inquisitive. He’s always scanning his surrounding with his beautiful eyes when he is not sleeping. Check out his stylist hairstyle and that cute side burn too.

A.i hopes the best for every newborn and since there’s a ‘yi’ in Zeniq’s chinese name, we hope his potential artistic talents would benefit the world he is so keen to see. Bless you Zeniq.

Passion Portraiture: He’s not an expert but he likes to play the piano.

Do you have to be really good at something to like doing something?

Most likely you like something then you try to be good at it right? Not everyone can be a genius but everyone can enjoy what he/she likes. All you need to do is try. I know Royce did, and he enjoys it.

Announcement: fifteen for 50 promo!

What is fifteen for 50? In short it means you get fifteen pictures for the price of just $50. Yes, fifteen pictures for only $50! (UP: 20 for $228)

What is the catch? Well… All you have to do is catch Andy (principal artist) of A.i before 31st March 2011. It is that simple. And this offer is limited to only the first 50 customers.

Why is the closing date 31 March 2011? It is because Andy will be unavailable for the duration of April as he is required for Government Service. Furthermore, he will be relocating part of his business to Thailand after April so any projects for portraiture will cease for the time when he is not in Singapore. However, where it allows, projects based in Singapore will still continue as Andy will be back in Singapore once a month.

Why such a good offer? Although mostly, A.i has so far been photographing weddings, A.i’s direction is still to make a difference with photography. It has not been easy to push through this idea of photographing people doing the things they like. This is especially when Andessen Imagery refrain from using any form of advertising from the beginning and opting to do promotion only through word of mouth. Call Andy silly but he believes in fate. Photography in itself is spiritual in the way it reflects the subject being photographed. A friend of Andy once asked him why doesn’t he go into the profession earlier and his answer was that it just isn’t time yet. I think now is the time to push this idea through thus A.i is offering fifteen for 50.

What do you get for fifteen for 50? For $50, you get fifteen pictures, high resolution 4R in digital format. And for $50 you get a reflection of who you are to always remind yourself of what you love. This is the disclaimer. fifteen for 50 is photography about the things you love so that it tells the story of who you are as a person.

At the end of the promotion… with your permission, A.i would like to hold a photo gallery exhibition during the second half of 2011 so your photographs can further make a difference as inspiration to others.

All A.i need now is your participation. :) Do help spread the word around. Thank you so much!

Happy Birthday Travis!

I was taking pictures at Travis’s birthday celebration yesterday.

Do you mean A.i offer photography services for events like birthday now? Yes, and No. You see, Andessen Imagery have been offering complimentary portrait sessions for many months now but the response have been only luke warm. I’m not sure why. Perhaps it sounded too good to be true.

All that was required was to post on our Facebook wall about the things you love and you could win a complimentary photography session about the things you love. It is that simple. No gimmick. No trick. No scam. I know we are all afraid of these.

Elvin posted on the wall saying that he loves family so we met up and discussed about the idea of a family shoot. I made it clear that it would be no studio shoot as A.i’s direction is natural and authentic. It is to keep things real.

I love Elvin’s story. He told me his family include his dad, mum and two older brothers with him being the youngest. It is often difficult to have everyone in the family get together now that his brothers have all grown up and busy with their own lives. One link, however, that joins the family is his eldest brother’s son, Travis. Everyone adores him, and as such it brings the family closer. This closeness is evident at an occasion like Travis’s birthday.

And so, we set the date and I got my gears down to “Capture the things we love.” Happy Birthday Travis! He is such a good boy.
